Hitch pin clips are the mating part to many types of pins, and as such should be carefully considered and designed into the application. Most hitch pin clips are made from wire, and while most parts are manufactured from spring wire or stainless steel, there is market access to specialty materials, including marine grade 316 stainless steel. In designing an application, the engineer should consider factors such as manufacturing cost, integrity of the locking mechanism, and whether or not a tether should be used.
