Timothy O’Keeffe is the Vice President and General Manager of the G.L. Huyett. O’Keeffe, a Nebraska native, holds his bachelor’s degree in economics, Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Nebraska. Attracted to G.L. Huyett because of its growth potential and its participation in American industry, O’Keeffe and his wife, Carol O’Keeffe, purchased G.L. Huyett in November 1992. Prior to the purchase of G.L. Huyett, O’Keeffe began a business brokerage firm in Kansas City, where he was a charter member of the International Business Brokers Association. At that firm, O’Keeffe assisted in the development of the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) professional designation for that trade group. From 1985 to 1992, he sold 300 companies, the bulk of which he represented the sellers in the many transactions. Prior to his success as a CBI, O’Keeffe was employed with Procter and Gamble. With the acquisition of G.L. Huyett, O’Keeffe intended to get back to the tangible aspects of the business world. As Mr. O’Keeffe said, “The fastener industry is tangible. We sell stuff that you can touch and feel and we employ ‘real’ people that know machines and mechanical components. I take great pride in crawling under tractors with my kids at the county fair so I can point out the parts that we make.”
Timothy and Carol O’Keeffe and their five children make their home in Hastings, Nebraska, where G.L. Huyett has a satellite office.
