Project Drive
While Project Drive is our primary community outreach campaign, we also participate in other activities throughout our community.
Grills for the Grove
In 2014, G.L. Huyett employees donated their time and money to assist the Markley Grove Park Friends Inc. in their efforts to purchase and install four new BBQ grills at the Markley Grove Park in Minneapolis, KS.
The Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner at Applebee's Restaurant

Along with members of The Salvation Army and Applebee’s in Salina, KS, G.L. Huyett volunteers help prepare, serve, and deliver hundreds of Thanksgiving Day meals, free of charge, to people throughout the community. G.L. Huyett donates the turkeys and pies for the event and G.L. Huyett employees contribute money to cover the cost of sweet potatoes.
Ottawa County Fair Parade

Our employees brave the heat to participate in the festivities to kick off the Ottawa County Fair each July. Many of our employees march in the parade or hand out candy and enjoy the small town atmosphere.
Minne-K Days
Each spring, Minneapolis hosts a family fun day downtown. G.L. Huyett employees set up in front of our conference center to hand out popcorn and balloons while catching up on local happenings. G.L. Huyett also contributed to the prize package for the Minneapolis Volunteer of the Year.
Love Inc
Love INC (In the Name of Christ) is our local food pantry. G.L. Huyett employees regularly contribute money in order to assist the less fortunate in our community.
Pay It Forward

Based on the Warner Bros. (US) movie released in 2000. G.L. Huyett created gift baskets and delivered them to homes throughout the community in the fall. We included a card explaining the concept and asked the recipient to also “pay it forward.”
Giving Back
As a gesture of kindness, G.L. Huyett employees collect and donate money for a charitable organization each holiday season. The money is given on behalf of the O'Keeffe family name.
Community Youth
G.L. Huyett participates in many activities geared towards our youth. We help or volunteer with local school groups, clubs, and church organizations. You can always find our smiling faces downtown for the annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat, Minne-K Days, and many other community sponsored events.
