Turnbuckles, also known as a bottlescrew, is a 3-piece device used for adjusting slack and tension in chains, ropes, and ties in rigging, hauling, lifting applications. A turnbuckle consists of:

  • The turnbuckle body - a steel frame with right-handed and left-handed threaded holes opposite one another, which serve as the attachments for the turnbuckle ends.
  • Two turnbuckle ends - these can be hook-end, eye-end, or jaw-end depending on the needed attachments. The ends can be adjusted in the turnbuckle body to add or remove tension as needed.
