Wire Rope Thimbles

Wire rope thimbles, cable thimbles or simply wire thimbles, are used to support wire rope eyes by creating a durable wear surface when connected to mating rigging hardware. The wire rope eye also helps prevent pinching, crushing, and fraying of the wire rope eye while in use. Thimbles can be used with swage sleeves, U-bolt wire rope clips or fist grip wire rope clamps. They are available in standard duty, heavy duty, zinc plated, galvanized, and stainless steel material.

  • Prevents fraying by providing a durable wear surface
  • Help retain the shape of the eye and resists crushing and pinching
  • Use with swage sleeves, U-bolt wire rope clips or fist grip wire rope clamps
  • Optional hot dipped galvanized or 304 stainless steel for corrosion resistance
  • Thimbles extend the life of wire rope eyes and wire rope slings
  • Installation requires a torque wrench and must be re-torqued after a test load
