The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) is a supplement of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) used by the Department of Defense. DFARS 252.225-7014, Preference for Domestic Specialty Metals, is a regulation that requires US government contractors and their suppliers manufacturing military parts, components, or end-item deliverables containing “specialty metals” to use only metals that have been melted in the United States or a qualifying country listed in DFARS 225.872-1. 

All standard catalog items offered by Huyett comply with DFARS section 252.225-7009 and as such are offered as commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) items. COTS items are exempt from the requirements of section 252.225.7014, Specialty Metal requirements. 

Customer per print items that do not meet the definition of COTS items manufactured by Huyett utilizing material meeting the definition of Specialty Metal shall comply with DFARS 252.225-7014 only when such material is available and appropriate costs have been negotiated.
