Swivels

Swivels

Swivel attachments are used in lifting and rigging applications that require some movement and positioning before being placed under load. They are comprised of two attachment ends, connected by a threaded shaft and nut. The swivel ends are allowed to rotate freely while not under load, and lock into position under the force and friction applied by the load.

Swivel lifting attachments come in three common forms:

  • Eye to eye swivel attachments - two eye loops provide secure attachments for chains and vertical rigging.
  • Jaw to eye swivel attachments - the clevis jaw end and pin allows for easy attachment and removal of hooks, chain, and other lifting hardware.
  • Hoist ring swivels - the threaded shank allows the swivel to be installed similar to an eye bolt with the added benefit of supporting angular lifts without WLL derating.
